i also got a eco gear sx 40 and a cheap version made by kokoda they both have almost identical swimming style ones $25 and the other was $5.

Those little kakoda sprogs are great. Make sure you tune them because the dont swim straight, and change the trebles to owner brand. The trebels on cheap lures are woeful and owner stingers account for WAY more bream. You end up with hookups just from fish taking timid nudges at your lures!

You have a good selection if you need any help with how to tune or simply use them to thier most potential, read a book called how to catch bream on hard bodied lures by steve Starling and Kaj busch. Or pm myself or beats.

Read read read, thats all I can say. Get yourself an Aus fishing encylopedia and digest the lot. It will help you in leaps and bounds.

Allright boys here goes. To tune your lure you need a pair of pliers with you. Firstly tou will need to swimm the lure in the water in front of yourself watching the the lure and paying close attention on wich way it pulls left right or center. If a lure pulls to the right you need to get the pliers and bend the piece of steel that holds the split ring(the bit you tie off to) to the left. In simple terms bend the steele in the opposite way to where the lure pulls.

As for using bream lures, think like a bream. Bream LOOOOOVE structure, so have an idea of the structure under the water that you will be fishing. If using a hard body that dives to 4ft you must cast atleast 4ft past your structure so it will be swimming at its peak depth when passing your structure. Match your lure to the under water depth of the structure your fishing. It may be some jettie pylons, a sunken boat, some scragly rocks or a fallen tree.

If your not sure of the area, try bouncing some soft plastics around and use them to feel out the bottom and any objects laying around on the ocean/ river floor.

Its really just the tip of the ice berg. You can make fishing as complicated or as simple as you like!
