Heading out tomorrow (Saturday) Sydney heads and just outside, any news of whats been biting during the week ?

its a bit up and down the fishing offshore at the moment - v patchy - still good fish being caught just not too many of them.

My mates have been telling me its not to good in close this week.
Not much current and green water. They havnt been doing to well.
Maybe wider will be better.

I'm heading up the C-Coast, overnighter off entrance beach sat night then up off a few reefs just north of there!:headbang:

Yeah if you r willing to make the trip ive also heard there r big blues around. apparently there was a 400+kg blue marlin taken off sydney y'day, and there have been others around 2-300kg too in the last few days, but very very wide. 50nm +.
Otherwise close in trolling has been hard. We trolled for 70 miles north of sydney around norah canyons y'day in 70-300m of water and didnt even raise a fish. bait was scarce and water temps were below 20 degrees most of the day. when we dropped bait jigs all the bait was deep on the bottom - and none were slimies, just big yakkas , nannygai and tiny pinky perch....
Went in close off newcastle and CC looking for bluefin and no luck there either, just masses of weed and crappy 19 degree water, and just the odd bit of bait.
have heard those going south had more luck on the water temps however but not many more fish....
Closer in the bonnies seem to have moved on too, there r some tailor and salmon but not many, and the odd big king still about.
