1st of all a chance to rectify an error I made in another thread where I called the fish below a 40 cm bream.

It was brought to my attention that in fact the fush was indeed a 45 cm Brimus nearly Maximus confirmed this because my oldies hadn't eaten it yet & I ducked around to measure it again.

Beaut weather , good company I took Haji & MartinF out for a afternoons spin session not alot of fush & Haji stated the day off with a 30 cm bream on SP , Martin got his 1st whiting on SP.

DC got nothing all day using HB's till it was time to call it a day, in the end persistance paid off my PB on HB Brimus 45 cm suppose not bad @ all since it was the 1st time I'd actually used HB's seriously.

Thats the way!! Im glad you got Haji on the lures Ive always wanted to prove to him they work but its too hard to get a day planned on my side of sydney. Its really good to see a monster bream like that lures are the only way to go when you wanna get the biggens:headbang: :headbang:

Well done!

Bass flicker !

Haji had no choice cause I only took spin rods he started groaning when he found out I didn't bring any bait nor the yabby pump :rolling laughter:

As far as big bream go ??

Mate I have no probs getting them on baits & in good no's a small bream @ my fav spot would be around the 35 cm mark & some real big horses come out of there in season.

naddy !

fishinf explained it for you & it's refered to as Lurecasting

Another 1st for me on the day & curious how many of you guys have nailed a squid on HB ??

I thought I had a flathead on the end of the lure when hooking it, trebles do have their advantages

Nice work DC.

This is the time of year for the big breading fish as they start to fatten up for spawn. Should be good numbers of big fat fish starting to show up on most systems now.

Squid on hb's and sp's sometimes happens, but down in the Hacking anything and everything is possible in that waterway. It always manages to perform the weirdest things possibles, as well as the species it can produce.

Cheers

Mate I stuck with the HB's all day cause bloody toads & leather jackets were chewing up the SP's

We did see quite a few breams in the water up this little creek darting about.

I really wanted to nail some whiting on poppers but didn't really arouse a great deal of interest fromthem, mind you didn't see any big models just smallish ones but some good schools of them.

Ha ha ha ha I was laughing when I read this because every time i fished the hacking I either got attacked by damn toads, XOS leatherjackets or friggin squid. All the sp's had nice little chunks taken out of them

I fished the hacking only a few times whilst I lived in Sydney and I never ever caught a bream from there. But everytime i went out there I normally got smoked by kings on the bream gear.

The Hacking has to be one of the greatest untouched waterways on Sydney.

Where else can get a diversity of species in Sydney like they have there in the hacking. I have seen pics of Kings, bream, flathead, whiting, jews, snapper, mangrove jacks, spotty mackerel, mack tuna, frigates and the list goes on. The Hacking has a reputation of drawing in the northern pelagics where other systems cannot.

Its a great place and I regret not fishing it more.

Cheers

Think leelee left a few species out !

Bonefish
Last year there were Watsons leaping Bonito's in Gudgamaja Bay
15 odd years back a school of YFT appox 20 - 30 kg's each made Sth West Arm there home for a few weeks
Last year whilst spinning for Frigits I had Whaler :shark: crashing into the side of my tinny.

My biggest flathead have come from the hacking 1.1 meters.

Only just started fishing it again last 12 months prior to that my boats were to big.

But I do have a sneaky secret spot which really turns out the brimus 30 cm's is a small fish there coming up to this time of year

Looks like I might have to drag my tinnie to the hacking even just to explore if not fish!

Not just the spots Maurice.

It's the style of fishing that you need to rig up for.

I read alot of reports in regards to the Hacking & honestly shake my head @ times guess peeps are set in their ways with methods used & I cant understand why they keep going back without any thought in regards to changing their methods.
