Sunday windy and raining, I had some new comers on the boat(the wifes cousins husban and 15 year old and 5 year old boy). I took them to my usual spot to find nothing there but a 5-10cm snapper which the 5 year old caught. Then all of a sudden the boat just went a drift, we had lost the anchor, some how it came off the chain. That finished the fishing. Went back home to face the wives with nothing. And then copped "well we better get some meat out of the freezer for dinner"(with sarcasem) to that i said "I'm going to buy a new anchor and go back out". We got back out there at 13:00 returned at 16:00 with 6 bream rangeing from 29-38cm and 2 travalley 1 at 32cm the other 38cm. Mission completed.:red party:

Anybody eles go out on sunday?

So many hours mate. Where were you? Thanks for the advise about the d shackle. I thought fishing line wouldn't cut it, ha.

I was meant to go outside on the reefs but didnt want to take the risk on my own. The conditions were horrendous!
Slept the night in the Hawkesbury and fished Pittwater. I dont fish there much so im not familiar with the waterways there. Only got rubbish and illegals.

Also helps to check your shackles aren't loose. I have lost 2 anchors this summer due to the shackle coming apart. One I retrieved again but I still have a reef pick in front of Balmoral Island which couldn't be found with a mask and snorkel. Just one of those things to check on every now and then.
Cheers
