Will be looking to get a few bits for a 35 hp Johno--76 model....wheres the best place to go around Campbelltown/Bankstown/Penrith/Castle hill areas(these are all areas I frequent at least weekly)--want to avoid on-line purchases!

Also after a service manual-I know the price on a genuine one is expensive....hows those ones on CD-rom, are they any good!

He will have parts, if not he will get, or will know where to, must need them for his repairs !!! He's also an outboard mechanic.

Cheers guys.....
Maurice I think that place is the one where they sell Polycraft boats-been there before to buy bungs-was cheaper than Bias!

Did you find an authorised dealer yet Storms, I'm after a genuine manual too.
There's Hunts at Blakehurst/Carlton but my last experience there was bad so I'd rather find someone else.
I just checked the phone book for Evinrude, Johnson, OMC, Outboard Marine Corp and Bombardier and found no listings, they should change thier name to Masonic Outboards.

Hey FED,,,,Yeah I'v found a manual and its on its way (started hunting round forums and a fella in NZ had a mate in WA with one but no longer has the engine so happy days:jamm: ) I'v seen a few on e-bay mate you might have some luck there....Am running into some trouble finding a water pump kit and seal kit for the 76 model 35hp....I will speak to a USA company tomorrow who has them and find out how much $$$ it will cost me.....Anyone able to help with tracking down spares for my engine-I will supply some Beer'o'clock and plenty of silly conversation during a day of fishing on my boat (once its all sorted) if someone can help!

Fed, Marine Scene at Campbelltown is the place mate! Rang them today and they had Impeller and Prop shaft seals in stock-genuine Johnson parts, cost me -Impeller $30, seals $15 each!

The fella at the counter was very helpful and I was confident to get the parts fitted after his advice...Geez the bearing housing was a bugger to remove but at least now if any gearbox work is required it won't be that hard to break the seal next time-was happy with the condition of gears, bearings, connector, etc so all re-assembled and after a quick test alls pumping, shifting and running fine and no more gearbox oil leak!:red party:

No good Storms, it seems the only way to get a genuine manual is to buy the whole set which could be around half a dozen.
At least the guy explained the reason to me.
I'll keep my eyes open on Ebay.

Ok mate, I guess it gets me nack to my question in another thread.....Whats those CD rom manuals like...Does anyone have one and can provide some feedback on the content and quality on them in comparison to a factory service manual?????

I'll keep my eyes open for you Fed!

I have one Storms it appears to be a Clymer Manual that has been scanned into PDF files.
All up there has to be at least 1000 pages covering all sized OMC outboards.
I got it from a friend but I think they're about $10 on Ebay, good value at that price. Hardly worth even making a copy but....
It also has some Oz Explorer (map) program which I haven't looked at yet, a carby tutorial and instructions in transom replacement.
