ok, here to open up another can of worms reg shimano v diawa v viva debate, as some of you may remember im going to hawaii for my honeymoon. givin the state of our dollar and the price of tackle im buying a new rod and reel over there. have narrowed my choice to a diawa exceller plus or shimano saros. what i cant decide is which one or size- do i go for a 3000 or 4000 size and if so do i go the diawa with more capacity or shimano with more drag maybe? i dont know as both brouchers have a few typos where they claim one thing in the blurb but another in the stats. will use it mainly for fliking lures at jew and large flatyys and more than likely lots of water in between. can anyone help?

i was thinking of using 7-8kg braid on one spool and 4-5 kg on another- wwhat size reel do you think? was thinking of matching to something like a glomis rod
Got a mte who has a 4000 excellor plus and he loves it. Catches a fair few mack tuna up here as well on it.

yeah think you would best use a 4000 size which ever brand you choose.

hmmm I would go with the Saros, HOWEVER, the Exceler Plus is a fine reel. But I think the Saros drag is better and the Saros is a tighter reel.
