looks good for the 1 day event hope to see u all there only thing i dont understand is why the 5 fish now instead of 3 dont make sense to me i think some attention to timekeeping more important just my opion i thought 3 fish was good it suits a lot of guys who have trouble trying to keep 10 bream alive anyway look foward to it :icy:alos i like beats idea of first paid up first away what every ones thoughts on it

Not my idea it's a proven formula (ABT x U.S) I agree with you on the fish though 10 in a livewell can get a bit cramped, but dont forget you can weigh your fish at any time & empty your well & then go finish your bag & continue upgrading then weigh again. Don't have to hold them all day if your worried about your livewell capability..

If you are prefishing this w/end, be aware that there is a 10 boat invitational comp on in Brisbane Waters + Hawks. probably won't affect you at all but if you do come across any give em some room, they are fishing for prize money & if they are catching fish there is no need for you to check there any way, thats what it's for, to find fish. if someone else does it for you, thats great.

Thanks for the reminder Greg.

I will be out there somewhere so if I see you guys I will stop off and say hi:smiile:

I regards to how we should start I think everyone should pay up foirst and Chris should call out boat numbers that are randomly draw out by himself and you leave when your numbers called, but that may not work as the bay will get pretty cramped with all of us plus other boaties heading out.

I'm more worried about the time it will take to weigh in 5 fish each. that is if I can find 5 fish:maad:

yes i agree weighing in 5 indavidual fish will be a pian in the ass but im more concerned about finish times it is queit easy to sneek in late considering the back log ive seen it done & greg sure u can weigh in early but travleing time hurts no one has still answered my question whats the diff between 5 or 3 as far as i see it 5 is abt standard that is what most guys work off buggered if i know why 3 is great u still weigh ur best 3 & ive never seen 3 been a problem with drawing weights i think people get to used to abt rules of 5 fish ok its harder catch 5 than 3 but ive seen a 3 bag beat a 5 bag so whats the point
also ffor any of u guys that use the mooney ramp the pontoon is now installed ill be checking it out on saturday ill let you know what its like

Mark I think maybe the whole idea behind a 5 fish 1 day event is to stop the possibility of a draw. I can't see why thats a problem but I rmember someone saying thats what its for.

I weighed in 2 fish for the 2 day event so with a one day it would want to be about a 4kg fish to help me get to the top.

Looks like you can't take me to the hb spotx spot this weekend lol

lol lee i dont really care 3 or 5 but i dont see the need for change i like 3 fish & no prefish days i hope it stays the same sets these comps out form the rest just my opion & ill see u out here on the weekend but i doubt a draw they r very rare but i have seen a cpl only takes 1 extra jig head left in as was done in the ausbream open cpl years ago

I hear you loud and clear and agree totally.

I'm launching from Berowra and fishing up and down river so we might cross paths in a creek or something somewhere:wiink:

I'm not fishing in that comp Lee, it's just a courtesy I think we should extend to those who are, but that's a choice for the individual, just my thoughts on it.

Mark,
If you see someone back late, make sure others see it as well & report it if it bothers you that much, you are right & I agree it happens often & needs to be rectified, ( bring on the key tag system) we all know it works.

Thats cool Greg I know most of the guys fishing it. If I see them coming to a spot i'm fishing or they are at a spot I want to fish I will let them have the spot. I'm only out to find out what the hawkesbury is up to.

5 fish is going to be a big pain...........
going to finish late i think but why cant we weigth all the fish ogether and if you have abig fish contender, weigh that one seperate as well???

and yes the people turning up late and not getting fined is wrong, but it just seems petty to say any thing, someone on the shore should be watching for this. whats this key tag system??????

in abt comps they have a key tag, you get it when you get your live well checked and if its not on the board by the finish time you get deducted simple and effective

Staff,
Sportsfish have a comp on where they have invited some anglers to fish under banners of their different sponsors to say thankyou for supporting their STC this year. weigh in at some central coast boat show in gosford I believe, maybe someone else may be able to fill in the gaps, buts thats the general gist of it.

Gee Mark you didn't have to a long way to go to find them did you!

I found most of my fish in a nice little honey hole right outside the caravan park at sackville:tongue:

Seriously mithendore with all this rain we are having normal honey holes might be empty due to the flush of fresh.

Time will tell I'm guessing and I'm not counting on anything special for sunday. 5 legal fish would be just nice.

Beats money talks and you no the rest ;good idea gives you some idea of numbers. Elise and i struggled with our catch we use a 80ltr tank and ABT requires a 60ltr tank insulated. Is it true Elise is not olny too young for ABT but is also too young for WDBB bream comp. If it wasnt for this comp she could only fish club comps which is limited and slightly holding her back. regards rod.:coool:

struggled how ? as in to keep them healthy?

how many did you have in the tank ? (I ask because I'm going to be using a 70lt tank, and with hopefully 10kgs of bream in there, I'm a little concerned).

Edit: Can anyone confirm for me, can I just turn up for this event, or do I have to pre-register (haven't fished a NSWPTF event before)

mithendore
09-06-06, 09:41 AM
just turn up on the morning and you can register then. You get a number that you have to use each time you go in a comp but thats about it.

i would get there early as i imagine there will be some boats putting in and this will be a hassle i think.

10 big bruises in a 70lt livewell will be chocca's. Some will not come out of the livewell feeling that well and will not be in good condition. Just keep heaps of fresh water pumping around the tank at all times.

Rememebr to keep an eye on the fish at all times if the well is full of big fish. Also remember you can weigh in fish at any time not just at the final weigh in. This might be an option if your not confident in your livewell.

Cheers

Thanks Lee, I've already pretty much decided to weigh in early (and then head out agin).
I have another live tank I could take (maybe 30lts) as well, but with 2 exterior live tanks, at least 4 rods, two tackle bags, wet weather gear, jumpers/beanies and the rest, the boat will be packed!

Due to STRONG WIND WARNING hawkesbury round may be postponed till monday 12th (pub holiday) Will not know till 4-30am sunday morning when it's updated check yourself at http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDN20100.html in the morning, Chris will still be at parsley bay to let you know.

Beats,

What if the strong wind warnings are still the same at 4:30am and there is no wind blowing out the front of my house they have been known to be wrong, also from what I've read this warning is for the early morning and moving north I know we have to make sure tournament conditions are safe for all. Could you please post Chris's mobile number or someones number as I'm not prepared to drive from Botany to Parsley Bay to be turned around all because of what the weather bureau states.

Here is some info from the Bureau: Strong Wind Warning
For Sydney Closed Waters, Pittwater, Port Jackson and Botany Bay

S/SW wind 25/33 knots developing Sunday morning. Waters rising to rather rough.

This wind warning is only coastal I believe that this warning won't have any effect on us as we are not going to be fishings past Juno to Flint and Steel, correct me if I'm wrong please.

Staff & all,
The warming Chris will watch is not for Sydney coastal waters, it's for Sydney CLOSED WATERS, Chris would let it run ,,, BUT there is a responsability issue if he lets us loose when there is a weather warning:rolleyes: Update after 5pm tonight & he will probably make a decision then.
I'll let you know here.
If there is still a chance a mobile number will be posted so you can check in the morn after the 4-30am update. you will probably know tonight.

Same times 6am sign on 7am briefing & start.
5 fish will be weighed in the 1 bag for totals & you must nominate to get 1 weighed seperate for big bream if you think it's big enough.:smiile:
