Does anyone know where I can get a couple of springers from? I've tried a couple of tackle shops without any luck. :wtf:

Most of the plastic places will have what you need
1/2 " nylon will do the job you need a length of around 80 - 90 cms each from both ends you need to bend the rod virtually @ least 180 degrees as it will spring back.
Springer should look like a Z when finished, on one ene use a hacksaw to cut a slot down the middle for the line to 1/2 hitch into this slot needs 2b about1.5 cms deep.
Then go to any boating accesorie place & get a couple of 1/2" nylon skin fittings for the springers to sit in, these are a nice tight fit.
A couple of places that have the nylon rod that I know off are
