also personally id like to see prefish bans applied to 1 day events but thats just my opion
On prefish bans fo any 1 day events, would you really drive to somewhere maybe St Clair for bass for eg.. for only half a days fishing. thats why hou can fish on saturday.
2 day rounds won't change from the ban though.

Congrats to the top ten and all whom managed to land some bream, I think the biggest problem was tring to find a productive area out of the wind for the first couple of hours while trying to warm up, everywhere Tony and I went there were a lot of little fish, I also noticed no bait fish around etc. Would be interesting to find out where everyone fished, not exact spots but areas as we fished Spencer's creeks, Berowra flats, the flats near the Island near the road bridge the flats at the mouth of Berowra etc. All of these places have fired after a lot of rain but never on a full moon and specially not yesterday.
Stafford.
Well done guys,
Brendon, what a champ, never fails to impress me.
I went up Cowan, why, I don't know, cause I always say I'm not gunna then I do, anyway got nothin up there, got my only fish at Dangar.
I reckon having the cut off point at Juno is a bit lame, I know there are some smaller boats in the field but there are alot of guys investing in bigger boats to give themselves more options, it should'nt be structured around the smaller boats IMHO.

The reason i think its a cut off at Juno is more for safety reasons. A rule is a rule and we can't have 2 seperate rules for small and large boats.
I hear you about Cowan, we did the same but upriver and it never fires on a comp day. I wonder who stings all the fish when they are prefishing it hahahaha
Cheers

G'Day Lee,
I know it's for safety reasons, the point is the tourny is an enter at your own risk, a warning in regards to boat/small boat safety is given and accepted.
There has been a growth of bigger boats that will continue and restricting them to Juno IMHO should be reconsidered.

Thanx Lee,
I can really relax now and not concern myself with qualifying:biggrin: , even not have to do all the Bream rounds now & get back to doing what I love doing (Dam Bass) With out having to deep jig for them & see if I can Qualify for the Bass final as well:wiink:.
Staff,
I fished the the lower areas, didn't go past milsons passage.
Buz,
the reason the cut off is where it is, is not just a safety thing but how often have you heard people complain about the fact they have to cross that area because of starting in pittwater & the fact that seas were running upwards of 4m & an outgoing tide, if it was an ABT I think you will find you would have all been fishing with a pittwater waters only cut off, besides you've got 112+kms of river + all it's creeks as well. the key to it was finding the water that was a little warmer after the rain. Cowan, Mullet & Porto were icey after all the coastal rains around 10-11 deg.

yep i agree beats my usual spots where just to cold my own stupid fault with persisting there .as for the juno cutt off i cant see a problem .what makes u think u would have got fish traveling long distance as has been stated there is a massive river with more than enough spots that hold good bream the trick is to work it out as some did .thats what a comp is all about u fish against others in all conditons in selected boundarys we really dont need to change the rules just cause some have big boats as big boas dont win comps smart fishermerm do :smiile: no offence to any one
Thanks Mark,
Looks like your in the knucklehead category with me:biggrin: . I don't beleive I said I wanted to go out there:confused: , and the boat I was in, in those conditions would'nt have been wise, I'm saying as a general observation that there are no restrictions on the Harbour or Lake Macquarie and I have been on both of those in a blow and It does'nt get much worse, I don't see much difference:confused: . Save all ya cliches about the big boat small boat win the tounament at the launch ramp scenarios, I've heard em all before and I agree with em. I don't have a big boat and if ya have to be a smart fisherman to win a tournament then we could be in trouble, now if ya only had to be good lookin to win a tourny we'd have a chance.
With no internet at home, Team Thumper didn't realise that it would be cancelled.
So, after launching at Berowra we pottered round to Parsely Bay (not a lot of fun crossing the inlet near milson passage in the dark in some serious chop). Oh, and it was cold and raining.
Get to Parsley. Cancelled. Bugger.
Chris didn't like my idea of us having a mini-comp between Gav and I for the Loomis, so he took it home with him. :(
So we decided to have a little fish anyway.
Back across to outer Berowra and some old racks. Wasn't easy in the wind (and no electric) but we managed a few legals and some tiddlers. Jackall Chubbys did the damage, as it was too windy to cast anything really light.
The re-schedule was a bummer, as I'd traded the Sunday fishing to the wife for Monday picnic with 'mothers group' :( Rain on monday would have cancelled the picnic, but rain doesn't cancel fishing.
Congrats to Beats, top effort.
Greg I take back all the good things I have ever said about you now that you have pushed me into 11th place grrr
Well done and I guess I will have to pick up my game a bit for the next round.
Cheers

Pity Jewie's don't count because everytime me and Brownie fish the Hawkesbury, all we catch is Jewfish.
Anyway, had a great day fishing and can't wait for the next comp.

I reckon there should be a jewie section in the pro circuit, we already have the other species targeted by lures, even if it is a bycatch section in the bream and flatties ( I will just have to do it on a comp day!! )
Well done. I hate to say it but a jewie kicks a breams arse on any day on the light gear. In my eyes you are the winner on the day.

Then stop throwing sp's around the bridge pylons then Grant hahahaha
Nice fish and who cares about bream when you have bycatch like that.
Well done mate.
Cheers
