How the Pope caused a Blackfish Boom !

No ,it was not the loaves & fishes for the masses !
i think it may be the result of the clean up organised by some inner city councils.The rocks where I get green weed have been high pressure hosed before the visit causing lots of food to be dumped into the Harbour 2 weeks ago and attracting large numbers of Blacks

They normally do yes, but this winter they are larger & more numerous than in previous yrs.

It may be a combination of a few things including feeding up before spawning as well as the harbours recovery now there is no pro fishing!! :hellyeah:

Last year they were also very large and ravenous at exactly this time of year, especially around the harbour bridge, but in previous years they have been much smaller. The schools are getting bigger over time now they have less predation.

its good for us tho, something to fish for in winter!
