Peril

The time has come.
Peril is for sale as I don't have enough use for a double - my son won't come out with me at dawn any more and a single will be more flexible.
I purchased it in July last year, so 11 months old. It has a few scratches (none deep) but is otherwise in good condition. No damage from any collisions or mishandling, always garaged, resting on its side.
The keel portion of the motor is a little worn where it has hit bottom a few times, but no damage has been done to the motor. A couple of minor improvements have been made to the motor:
* the pin securing the prop to the shaft was very brittle and broke a couple of times so I replaced it with a nail (softer metal) and it has been trouble free since then; and
* the fixing of the head of the motor to the leg was modified as part of Viking's general modifications, but was not secure. I secured this with marine stainless steel components and it has been trouble free since then.
General features of the yak are:
* I have fitted an Eagle Cuda 128 sounder (recently replaced due to corrosion and now Inoxed after every trip);
* I have rod holders which I strap to the battery box, providing an extra four rod holders for net and rods - these are completely out of the way when casting;
* 28lb Minn Kota Endura Classic electric motor, with pedal steering and side mounted throttle (factory supplied and fitted)
* 70AHr lead acid battery;
* Standard viking seats with seat bags;
* Two paddle bungees;
* 4 x 6" hatches, two with bags
* 3 x 4" hatches (one is good for storing rods when going through surf)
* "knife holder" - useless
* I replaced the self tapping screws in the two rear rodholders with marine stainless steel bolts, washers and nyloc nuts, for trolling for pelagics
* 4 x flushmount rodholders (two reinforced as described, other two could be reinforced using wellnuts)
* Standard viking aluminium paddles with symmetrical plastic blades (with added fisheries fish measuring and identification stickers!)
* 2.5kg folding grapnel anchor with 30 or 40 m rope.
This yak is ideal for two people fishing estuaries, rivers and freshwater lakes. It can handle outside very well in terms of stability but is slow and I don't recommend it for that kind of work. Two people can cast from it comfortably.
Package plus extras cost a tad over $3000. I'm looking for $1980.
You are welcome to have a paddle and check it all out. Send me a PM/email if you would like pictures - I have about 10 showing different views.
