Fished this spot near the vales point hot water outlet on Lake Macquarie. Me mate first told me about it was not sure whether it was off limits in the night or not. Anyway found out and it was OK. Had a go at this spot were my mate was constantly landing bream in between 35 and 45cm. got there just at the high tide. pulled in one just legal bream almost first cast then a long wait and me mate pulls in a 42cm specimen. It was dead for the rest of the night apart from a 82cm longtom which I welcomed to my esky. Ive tried them before and there not bad at all!

Sounds like a top session! Thats some stonker Bream and a Long Tom too? I thought they were more of a summer species, im probably wrong though?
Looks like the fishing is slowly heating up!

i was thinking the same kamil, but that hot water outlet keeps all sorts of wicked species around all winter!!

i have had some success at the Eraring outlet. is that the same one? dont know if you can fish there any more??? but it used to fire!

I actually saw a little one in north harbour last week about 45cm. I was really suprised as i thought they were a summer only species. He was just cruising the weedbeds , i threw a bass minnow at him and he took it twice but i couldnt hook the bastard:banghead:

use tiny treble hooks as a stinger rob

they have such thin mouths theyre hard to hook sometimes
