Hi there :)
I am new to this forum and fishing in general. I would like to find out what are the best kept secrets for fishing areas in Sydney. I particulary like the land fishing rather than boat fishing at this stage.
If anyone knows of any nice, peaceful places to fish in Sydney I would greatly appreciate any advice you can pass onto me.
Cheers!
Welcome aboard buddy.
At this time in my life most of my fishing is from a boat. So what I can tell you may be a few years old.
I remember we used to go to Bobbin Head as a family when I was younger. It would be a great place to fine tune your skills, and if kids are involved there are amenities there catering for them as well. And there is also some walks from there that can take all over the National Park up that way.
Another good little spot would be Clontarf. Nice little beach there, and it drops of into some very deep water. And now with the Salmon about to start, you would be in with a chance.
Do you have a prefrence as to what area in Sydney you would like to try?

Thanks so much for the reply and warm welcome. :smiile: Your ideas sound great. (I'm not fussed on which area of Sydney, I will travel anyway that is good.)
Thanks very much for your help! Much appreciated.

Try the jetty at the end of Loungeville Rd Chatswood. Puts you right onto the Lane Cove River. Plenty of live yellowtail can be caught on unweighted mince and a size 10 hook. Throw the live bait back out for a chance at Tailor and Flathead, or if your realy lucky a Jewwy.
