Had a good session trolling at Lake Lyell on friday, despite the freezing weather we ended up with 15 Rainbows for the day with largest around the 4-5lb mark.
Will have some pics to follow.
:smiile: The best techniques for the day were downrigging tassies and minnows at 30ft and tassies on leadline at 4 to 5 colours. Cowbells worked in the middle of the day but not in the morning or evening. Also white jackall tn60's on a 120m dropback produced fish. Tassis colours that were best were the freddo frog and the lofty "Aboriginie" that is black and reddy gold with aboriginie painting pattern on the back. The standard gold wing in 26g also produced down deep.

Some nice looking trout there Kriss. Are they about average for Lyell? Having never fished there, is the ramp suitable for most boats/cars? Or is a 4WD needed?

The fish do seem to be average, they are all fat and full of bony bream and i suspect, bass fingerlings.
The ramps are all out of the water, and a 4wd is best, I saw one 4wd bogged on the sand on the edge of the lake.He had on wheel .5 of a meter off the ground, it took him and his mate 45min to get it out!!! We caught 4 fish in front of them while they were getting it out heheh:rolleyes:
