Report from my bday...

Gday fellas,
went out on mystery bay fishing charters yesterday with blokes from the fishing charter im in (11/10/2008) which also was me Bday...
Headed out through sydney heads and out to a few reefs and drop offs.
Went to around 4 or 5 spots in the day with 16 people on board we landed around 14 mowies, a few leather jackets, lots of nanni guys, a flathead and a few snapper including mine...
I caught the biggest fish of the day a 57cm snapper which weighs 1.95kg gutted and gilled...

Nice fish Tom, I'd call it for 50cm though, Comps are to the fork so thats what I'm used to.
but thats the legal measurement how you have called it so 59 it is, well done.

That really is a great fish for off Sydney, what way did you catch it and what bait? Did you use a paternoster rig or a floater?

Kamil, it was on a paternoser using a peice of squid somewhere around 5 mile reef i beleive, the depth would of been around 120m and the tempreture was around 18 degrees, i hope this helps mate...

I remember a trip too port hacking about a year ago, and i jumped out of the boat to go pump some nippers, never noticed my phone was in my pocket:rolling laughter: buggered that phone up but :ranting2:

Daniel, have you got some Raider lures? 20gram or 40gram? Just throw them behind your boat as far as you can and drive around the headlands and you will get kings and Salmon and Tailor, they love the little things! try it.

well me and dad took my tinny to brooklyn to try out the leccy, dad reversed the boat in and i took it off pushed it up a bit and jumped in. I then tried to grab one of the metal tie up points but the boat was moving away so i eventually ended up like a bridge between the boat and the wharf, i then hit my foot on something on the boat and fell in, the water was above my head, so i grabbed onto the boat and moved it up a little to were i could atleast stand, i couldnt take it up all the way because a bloke was putting in hes boat so i was standing there water up to me arm pits and then i relised i had me phone and wallet in me pocket so i got them out saying works like :ranting2::ranting2::ranting2::ranting2::ranting2: And then dad comes back saying WTF happened?? I told him about me phone and he laughed, the bloke who was launching hes boat said to me dad "mate you shoulda seen that funniest home video material".
