This was forwarded to me tonight i think all should have a read...................
Independent MP Clover Moore would be known to most of the crew. She's a survivor, an expert politician, and is always looking for a new group to pander to, for a quid pro quo at election time. She started out building grassroots networks amongst the huge gay community in her electorate in east Sydney, and in a new and worrying development is now hopping on the NPA bandwagon.
The NPA (National Parks Association) are a hardcore green group who absolutely *hate* anglers, hunters, horseriders, 4WD drivers and anyone who enjoys the outdoors or ocean. They want to 'protect the environment for future generations' - by locking out the current generation. They always make me laugh because every June (when the winds around Sydney drop to zero knots for a week or so, and the smog builds up) they put out a press release pointing out the pollution, and calling for restrictions on cars in the city. Despite them doing this every year at the same time the media don't (or perhaps don't want to) catch on.
Nonetheless they have had many victories at our expense, particularly with marine parks. Now they've hooked up with Clover to push for the proposed marine park off northern Sydney. Check this out:
http://www.clovermoore.com:80/main/?id=1840 (http://www.clovermoore.com/main/?id=1840)
This is a time when we really need to take action. Clover wants her greenie fan club to write to Environment Minister Carmel Tebbut urging her to make the proposed marine park a reality. We need to do the reverse.
Please- send a quick two lines by e-mail to the Minister's office:
dp.office@tebbutt.minister.nsw.gov.au (dp.office@tebbutt.minister.nsw.gov.au)
Just a short note saying you oppose the marine park plan, and you won't vote Labor if it goes ahead. Keep it polite and if you can, forward your e-mail to angling mates and urge them to do the same. If you take no action you can be 100% sure that the marine park will go ahead, either when the government needs a favour from Moore or as part of a deal for NPA support at the next State election. Please send a quick e-mail! It might be a good idea to CC your e-mail to the Pemier, too:
thepremier@www.nsw.gov.au (thepremier@www.nsw.gov.au)
Cheers to all and thanks for helping,
Andrew

Dear Madam,
I have been made aware of a new proposal for a Marine Park in Sydney's North.
You will be aware that the philosophy behind Marine Parks is flawed and is based on dubious scientific research.
I would refer to the many papers published by Professor Robert Kearney.
I and many other like minded fishers are fundamentally in favour of fish stock protection, but it needs to be effective and justified scientifically. So far it has not.
I would urge you to propose research into effectively managing these valuable resources rather than allowing terms to be dictated by extreme minority groups like the NPA.

i am totally against this control over our waters. These control freaks just wants more and more control over everything.
OF course they use fake scientific research, if you read that site, she mentions all these percentages, where does she get them from? out of her arse probably. Or maybe one phoney study.
This is just like how those climate change addicts say carbon tax is gonna save the planet, or cutting down trees is gonna save us from all the bad carbon, or killing all the cows cuz they release methane.
complete utter bullsh*t.
Everyone email the climate change minister, that person has so much power right now, maybe equal to mother nature? If the minister agrees then theres no going back, change their mind before its too late.
Perfect Neil,
Guys copy paste if ya wan't or write your own Constructive E-Mail OPPOSING this action.
It's for real & If you want to continue fishing sydney & hawkesbury waters I thik you need to send them & continue to send them every week to make absolutely sure they get that many that they just can not do it.
Aldso drop the word that if this goes ahead you can not possibly vote Labour again ( weather you do or don't is not the issue) as long as they
get the point

Re: The proposed 103,000-hectare Sydney Marine Park
Dear Madam,
I have been made aware of a new proposal for a Marine Park on Sydney's coast and up to three kilometres offshore.
You will be aware that the philosophy behind the current Marine Parks is flawed and is based on dubious scientific research, much of which was conducted overseas and in dissimilar environmental situations.
I would refer to the many papers published by Professor Robert Kearney.
I and many other like minded fishers are fundamentally in favour of environment and fish stock protection, but it needs to be effective and justified scientifically. So far it has not.
I would urge you to propose research into effectively managing these valuable resources rather than allowing terms to be dictated by extreme minority groups like the NPA who have a declared vested interest.
I would add that if this is being done as a vote buying exercise then the Green preference votes are likely to come the way of the Labor party anyway, alternatively, if this is being done as an idealistic measure, then please declare this openly and I will align myself with another party, despite having a lifelong voting history for Labor, such is my depth of feeling on this issue.
Sincerely,
neilm

Go team sydneyfishfinder!!!!:2gunsfiring_v1::duel::munky:
It's not just us & nor should it be, this is possible disaster if it gets through.
This also emencely effects, Marine dealers & all accesories wholesalers, Tackle stores, outboard repairers & Wholsale bait & tackle Industrie & more along the line not to mention tourism.
This has not just the potential to piss anglers off, ""this is MASSIVE !""
More people out of work & more Buisnesses going broke & closing, exactly what we need, way to stay with the trend NSW Government !!!!
Make sure everyone you know that has a business that may even remotely fall in this bracket know of this for it has the potential to fold them.
I'll grab a link to a map & then see what you think of it, it stretches from Newcastle To Woolongong boys & girls !

Just interested how many guys/girls are taking this seriously & have sent off emails & or Letters?

It's not about setting up a marine park off Sydney @ all
It's all politically motivated & you can bet your short & curlies the decision has been made It's only a matter of when.
This debate has been going on for 2 decades long B4 marine parks ever came into play.
Personally I'm piss'd off cause it takes away some of my favoured fishing spots.
Some time back in another thread I was having a go @ some people in regards to fishing licences they thought it was OK to pay for them, well those licences & this proposed marine park is all about the same thing.
Pt Botany Shipping Terminal, they cant stop you from visiting the proposed park but figure who'll want to go there if they cant fish the area ??
That's why DPI are sucking up to anglers with proposed artificial reefs,
It's all a con & all about shipping money talks, BullSh*t walks
I'm afraid sending emails will have no effect @ all
Humour me DC, send 1 anyway.:banghead:

How do I send sum used toilet paper ??:rolling laughter:
beats the local fishing clubs have kept these proposed parks away for 2 decades but I'm afraid within the next 4 years or however long it takes to complete Pt Botany the clubs battle will also be @ an end.
Not even a change of government will stop them now

Greg.
I have also sent letters, but if you look at the last page of your link, it states that there are no current proposals for this Marine Park.
Clover Moore wants to protect the Woody Sea Dragon. That must be the petrified cousin of the Weedy Sea Dragon.
I have often dived the wreck of the **** in the vicinity of Kurnell Lighthouse, and it is one of the places where I have seen loads of them. Guess what is there now!!. A huge platform and work going on for the Desal plant. That colony is cactus.
