Anyone got some good spots on the Northern Beaches they might like to share ?
I have fished Curl Curl,Dee Why, Longreef and Warriewood with the only luck being struck at Longy...
Mate what are you fishing for and with what and at what tides? There are fish taken at all of those spots depending on conditions etc. My personal favourites are Narrabeen down to Collaroy, occasionally Mona Vale, but where I fish on the beaches depends on the gutter formations. Sometimes I'll go much further afield to find a good formation.

Fishing for anything really...usually using mullett or Taylor strips as bait...also squid...have gotten a couple of bream and a nice size Salmon...I'd really like to try catching a Jewie...I've gone down there at nights mostly...and try and catch the incoming high tide...
Narra lake is now open again, so if there's a favourable gutter and a late high tide, it may be time to try for a jew down at northy, can get a bit crowded though.
Sounds like you're doing the right things with the tides and times, I guess it's just a question of patience - I'm still waiting for my first beach jew, I get out at the right times about once a month for a couple of hours when I can.
Good Luck!

I have caught some stud sized black bream at Narabeen this time of year on whole squid baits aimed at Jewies.
you sure they are blacks, most up this way are yellas but can be very dark depending on where ya get em especially early winter when they leave the lakes & bays then when they come back in they are usually bright silver with glowing yellow fins.
just interested if they are blacks thats all?
if they are they prob came out of narra lakes.

Yeah beats,
I'm sure they where blacks. The only time I have fished that area was coinciding with a release from the lakes. The fins were also lacking that usual yellow.
When I first caught them I thought they were just a dirty looking bream but the second time 6 weeks later has me calling them blacks.
Can any locals advise on the situation?
Do goon bream take on the black characteristic or are they a diffrent species?
