Mr Potato, I saw the thread that was deleted and will it really be missed that much? These forums are what the members make them. It only takes a few bad apples to spoil things for many who are here to learn, share and have a laugh.
Getting upset about why the admin/moderators of the site have removed a post or thread is pointless, move on and enjoy yourself.
Happy fishing!:warp:
In all honesty Potato it really doesn't matter what you think when it comes to a deleated post.
Didn't see the post your refering to BUT, if a Mod or Admin decide the post has broken site behavioral rules it will be deleated as all have been told enough to know by now.
If it was your thread or post that was deleated you should have recieved a PM intailing the reasons for removal.
Seriously everyone was warned yesterday. Its not my fault things get too out of hand so no more.
What topic are you refering to Rummy?

Kamil, I don't think you have to worry that much. Now that he's gone, there will be a LOT less fighting. Did you notice that almost every fight revolved around MM in one way or another? No need for a knee jerk reaction IMO, the forum's fine. :Cloudy: It was just MM going around starting fights left, right and centre.
Now if we can just get rid of that DC character... :rolling laughter::rolling laughter::rolling laughter::pottytrain1:
I agree, the trouble makers are gone and hopefully for good. I'm sure from now it will be back to normal, since their departure, people that have not posted here for a long time have started posting again.
Happy Fishing everyone.
Kamil
I've had posts deleted that were well within the rules and there was never a PM advising why either.
Some lie and some just can't handle the truth but Mods should be impartial and that's not the case here.

i removed some posts in the last few days and i think im very impartial
i really dont know what all the fuss is about the posts probly broke every
ssf rule
All i can say is this, there have been posts removed and if Stef felt the need for them to be removed then so be it. Even i have copped it from him and my posts have been removed also and no advisory notification has been givento me.
Why dont we all just start again and make this site the site it was meant to be before the crap started and escolated to what it was the other day.

I second that.
I dont think they should be removed. Maybe blocked from further posts. But not removed.
I for one like to go back through fiery posts and see how people contradict themselves in future posts.
If we start deleting everything that that is against the rules then the site is a dictatorship.....
Maybe we should link the site up with the Christian City Church and we can all hold hands and sing songs and have a big group hug at the end of every fishing report.....
Maybe we should just unite against the flaming marine parks rather than bickering amongst ourselves? No wonder we don't get heard.

That sorta post does not help C&R !!!
yes i have to agree with beats... C&R i think kamil is referring to another member... kamil can you put this staright ....MM might have a temper but his a good fisherman......

Beats what was wrong with my post?
If it wasn't MM then who was it? I'm not saying he was a bad fisho, just a fight starter. He even admitted to having a bad temper, and that's no excuse for starting fights. He can vent his rage elsewhere.
Its totally unnessasary to name names after the fact.
asimilar to having a tooth pulled & continually sticking your tongue in it and wondering why it still hurts !

Who cares whoose a good fisherman...
We come on here to talk rubbish and fishing sometimes..
If he wanted to have a dummy spit (yes im talking about MM) thats his problem..
If he couldnt handle the fact that some people didnt agree with him its his problem.. Just dont start policing every post because some one dont agree or feels upset about it..
I have not deleted any post.......of course we come on here for a bit of fun...thats what makes the forum MPH..

Good point. Although there is some debate going about, there is no name calling to any current member, no body's trying to pick a fight. It's just a debate where people are expressing their opinions.
Get over it everyone, Mick, i dont know what everyones fascination about Big Jews is,
I'll spill it for all of you that want one.
These tips are GOLD, you guys want a big Jew, here it is:
-Put a STUPID sized Butterflied/Live/Dead/Fillet whatever bait out, in the Hawkesbury, sit and anchor at the well known Jew spots, no need to tell you what they are as they are in every fishing book, video etc etc etc.
-Fish the last two hours of the run in tide(ie; the two hours before high) and wait for slack water, if you see pickers change your bait after its been demolished. Changing baits can mean always changing them, every few minutes. There must be something of substance still on your hook for a Big Jew to take interest.
-Fish Eddies and points, and places where there are drop offs, fish up river of these.
-On the run out, fish just out of the main channel also in above similar places.
-Try and get your baits as far away from your boat as you can, better chances this way, if there are boats around you, burley, if not dont worry, but you still can.
-Set your drag like you want to fight the fish, leave rods in rod holders preferably with the tip as low to water as possible, and let them nibble bite whatever until it runs, sometimes this may be instant or take a bit.
-When i say big baits, i'll put it like this, there is no point trying to feed a fatman with a cheeseburger, he wants 6 big macs at once, these fish have massive stomachs and gobs, so a little yakka will not suffice. Baits like 40cm tailor and 30cm mantle length squid, whole are great baits. It may look silly to you but not for the fish.
-Fish big tides, whenever they are, usually the week leading to the change of moons. Also look for a few days where the wind is constant from one direction, shifting winds are not good.
-If fishing from boat, use sea anchors, keep your boat still as swinging baits look un-natural, on slack water no sinker may be used.
If anyone wants any more info, PM me, i can help you.
I have caughts hundreds of these fish to 32kg, i was obssessed with them for 2 years and never came home without fish except twice in the middle of winter, but that was because it was cold and the motivation that night was minimal!
I have not fished for them for 2 years now as game fishing is my scene, but if i were to go to the Hawkesbury i would still come home with fish.
Yet i still dont understand the fascination with them?
Hope this helps a few people.

Phil come on champ, these tips are found on other Forums too, not just here, i did not give away spots, yet you fish on the river and these people think these spots are theirs, they have been known for decades, its not something just i or a select few know!! I hate people that think these spots are secretive, they are kidding themselves, read any article in any magazine or watch the dvd's, read up on it on the internet, books, i have not written anything new, maybe new to some that have not read it elsewhere or been told by people that cancatch them. Ive been crucified before and threatened, nothing ever happened, this info is everywhere if you know where to look or ask questions, its no secret, BIG BAIT=BIG FISH. Dont complain these tips may get you a Big Jew one day and im sure you'll be upset about it?
But you can all shoot me down for being helpful, i dont care!!
I really hope someone does nail a big Jew with this info.
Ok hook size, you want an extremely sharp hook, preferably about the 10/0 size, one or two dont matter, but make it relative to bait size. I use anything from 5/0 to 10/0, just remember, small hooks will catch all fish, big hooks only big fish.

I have been guilty of posting crappy stuff. I think the Mods do a difficult job well,so what if u have some stuff deleted.
I have been persecuted by jealous mods from the "Sydney anger" site who got me booted off another site and pinched my tag thru pure vindictivness
Sydney Fish Finder has been a robust and fair site and I 'm happy to be here

Get over it everyone, Mick, i dont know what everyones fascination about Big Jews is,
It's the same fascination peeps have with Kungy's, they think bigger is better but you can have just as much actually even more fun chasing wittler fishy's on lighter tackle.
All the tips in the world will NOT help you catch a BIG Jewgong or any other species if you dont put the EFFORT into it.
No good sitting behind a computor dreaming you need to be on the water

Frankly guys I miss the replies and discussions about the infamous deleted post. I thought it would get a bit more air time than that. Fair dinkum, that's one of the best dummy spits I've had the good fortune to read. Dave Hughes has got nothing on that guy. What a shame he took his bat and ball and went off to play elsewhere. As for the revered jewies, I've caught several tons of the smelly buggers for a living over many nights so trust me when I tell you that the only hook for jew is a 9/0 Mustad 540. No skin off my nose if you all have your own faves but try them, you'll like them. Trust me, I'm a fisherman.
