Hi guys, want to install a screw in bung in my tinny. Currently just has push in rubber type. What's the best way to go about this? Just drill out old hole to new bung dimensions, bit of sikkaflex and off we go, could it be that simple?

Any advice muchly appreciated.

Cheers PEZ.

As well as what you have stated, you will need to bolt it down with a couple of SS nuts and bolts. And yes...it is that simple.

Thanks JOCOOL. Looks like I've now got a little project to do on Saturday.

As its a tinny, aluminium, make sure you get the sika all over the s/s screws, otherwise the oppsing metals may react and corrosion will start. Aluminium rivets are a good alternative.:smiile:

pop rivets are secured by gun. lol:wiink:
blind are secured by press or hammer' therefor no steel pin on the inside no oxidization. Plastic pop rivets are another option for lighter aplications.

Not only that Greg, but a pop rivet will still allow water to enter through the stem as it isn't a water tight seal.

Sika or silicone will fix that lil hole though Jo.
