Oficially it is sunset to sunrise as it is in the National Park. Unofficially it has no gate so it is open all the time. Parking permits apply all the time and beware if your going out over a midnight period if you get my hint.

There was some sort of explosion down there last Sunday night about 8pm - sounded like an ATM going off but was probably a big bunger. Have seen a few burnt out cars and so on there.

Tunks Park is open 24 hrs and has no parking fee.

Yes i was down there hunting Jewy on that night, 25/1.It was a small group of youngsters in a convoy of 3 Cars that let the firecracker off. They let it off on the road, quite close to their own Cars.Seemed like a Copper bomb or a very large bunger.Road smoked for a couple of mins after they did their 'getaway'.

All pretty harmless apart from the old eardrums. Over the next 2-3 hrs a number of people turned up asking what it was, seemed to have travelled a long distance.

Thanks JC we were on the water 1km up then and it sounded like it was next to us. Car going up the gears racing off so assumed it was just idiots not serious. Pretty stupid doing it in a National Park with the fire risk and also under a bridge when police are going on about terrorism

We played with bungers and small pipes with powder as kids on a farm until a mate got his finger bones shattered. More dangerous than you think as bits can go in all direction for huge distances - hope it hit their cars.

Not a nibble after the bang and all the bird noise so don't know if it affected the fish

Pratts like that are going to lose us access to good places at night if they keep doing it . We were out at 10pm the week before but further away and heard something similar but it just echos in the valley off the water so not sure
