What do you intend on using it for?

Look at Spheros', Saragosa, they are quite good reels, especially with upgraded drag washers.

Yes they are and all are top notch, look into them. My mates own them and jig with them all the time so they can withstand some brute force, for the money they are gold.

Spheros 12000A/14000A($200), they're good big spool nice drag but might be a bit big
or you can try the daiwa oceano 4500J($250), has nice 9kg drag, great for jigging as well

Another good reel is the Penn Spinfisher, they have combos for $170 max depending on what size you want, PM me for details. I love those reels.

you dont want any large reels like 10000 plus for spinning in the harbour, biggest size i use is 5000 for plastics amd metals..other ou fits are way to heavy..:Dynamite:

I've got a brand new daiwa jupiter-da 40003b in the garage that I picked for next to nothing of some dodgie bloke down in liverpool but the line capacity doesn't look to good, 14lbs = 210yrds do you have an idea of what i might need of the peirs, light as possible without getting smoked.....

14lb braid is good, its really strong stuff!!! i dont get whay people put 80lb braid on reels such as baitrunners when their reel clearly can not give out enough drag pressure to snap 30lb braid!!!!!

You can have a look of the Daiwa reel they are not bad for it's price and i only load 15 lb on my Advantage and i fish off the piers as well i get busted off sometimes but more of the time i get the fish up.
