Nobby & Heath picked me up at a civilised 7am and we headed down to Narrabeen with a quick stop at the tackle shop.
We walked out on the flats near the caravan park and chucked a few SP's and HB's around. After about 30 mins there was a break in the breeze and I announced that it had gone for the day. 2 minutes later the westerly came back, this time at a consistent 25 knots.
There were two blokes in a tinny near us who suddenly started cheering as they had a double hookup of Flatties. Five minutes later Heath was on and got a nice flatty. Nobby who was being a big poof not wanting to get wet was finally coaxed off the shore and first cast nailed another Flatty that Heath lost while landing.
We wandered over to the other shore but did no good. The wind was really pumping now so we called it a day.
On the way home we noticed it was ten past ten and there was Terry Hills Tavern. I think it's rude to drive past a pub and not go in for a beer so we had a few schooners and dropped $20 each in the pokies.
When we got back to Heath's house the girls had arranged for us to go to the pub for lunch. Giddyup!
All in all a good day.
