Went up to SWR on thursday ( I know garth should have gone sth) The bay was very murky with flood waters still being pushed out of the Macleay River, we spent 4 days trolling for 0 turns on the reel. (besides a couple of stripies) :nopity: Had some fun on kings on SP's at the rock to kill time after long days trawling and picked up my first Cobia 6kg off the jail ( was hard to dodge the cyclists of the sea, kayakers) , But we went there for marlin to no avail. Oh well getting my marlin man hours up. Garth you were right should have gone south but had to meet up with some guys from coffs who didnt want to travel down. On the saturday we came back in on a dead low through back creek. Two guys on board saying i wont make it through i was quiet certain i would. We did, even though we had to get out and drag a 5.25m alu 30m through the bar. One wave at a time.:rolling laughter::rolling laughter:One of my best calls yet. Might post some photos but dont have much to show for 5 days fishing. :nopity: There is always next time.

Yeah ocean temps are pretty good. We were in temps of 24-25.5deg but just no good. Just before the floods had reports off a friend of 5 hook ups in one day.

Yeah i did do main bar once. I was lucky the swell was only about 2 foot. But will stick with back creek. Its easier. And way safer.

Should have better luck up at Townsville next week.
