Mako and Yellowfin

Went out with Greg Joyce yesterday for a perfect day chasing yellowfin and mako sharks. The conditions were perfect, 21degrees swell less than 1 m, a light breeze early that dwindled off to almost glassy conditions. After getting there we were into a 30kg yellowfin within 30 minutes, shortly after a double hookup with another at 30kg and one at 26 or so. as you can imagine we were all pretty stoked. No more yellowfin however. not long after we spotted a couple of mako sharks on the surface and sent down a stripey, seconds later I was on. somehow i had him to the boat in a matter of minutes, we traced him, then he woke up, twice he was completley out of the water, before he headed down, 30 or 40 minutes later I finally got him back to the top. Greg estimated him to be around 200kg.......Awesome day.:whattha: :coool: :headbang:

Hey Kris thought you were moving to qld because the fishing was better:rolling laughter: the number of Y/Fin iv'e seen & heard of from 20 upto 80 kgs in the last few weeks, then throw in the sharks & beakies just starting to fire up now, says fishing down sydney way is in pretty good shape!

We went to the shelf, bit north of Syd.....
Browns being a regular car park and all

There were a few sharks about too when kris got his mako, and one looked twice as big as his!!!
Imagine an all nighter on them at the moment............. :coool:
