Bassin this weekend aswell and can't wait, going to be a very long week, any idea on where the fish are at the moment i.e edges, deep top end or wall end, wouldn't expect anything too specific but anything will help when you live 9 hours away.
no idea mate, havn't been for ages & with the low water levels it's anyones guess!
just heard theres goin to be 3 fishing clubs competing in a interclub comp at glenbawn this weekend

the interclub guys have just pulled out due to the weather (pussys)lol
How did you all go??
Sorry to hear about the crap weather, who caught the big ones
got a few but then the wind got up n only caught sum good waves....sum good fish in the first session tho...:1badmood:
All went well, a bit of wind & rained most of sunday.
66 anglers, 138 fish, fished pretty tough I got my fish the same way most did slow rolling jackalls, some slow rolled plastics for a basically the same result & 2 nice fish were caught on surface on sat morning session. The average size of bass was good though at an average of 9.09kg.
Fisheries got the live bass they needed to take away for future studdies on tournaments with a 100% survival rate for this round, these fish will now travel to other rounds as control fish to make sure if captured fish die and controls also this tells them it is not anglers fault but a water quality issue or along those lines, they will assist them with future studdies & will be returned & released into Glenbawn in march next year after their final study is compleated.
These studdies are to assist us in making sure that we as anglers are returning these fish to the water with the best knogedge & techniques that ensure their survival rates are as close as we can get to 100% which at the moment are looking pretty good, they have already done this with the flathead rounds & they have told us that it was a survival rate of 98%.:coool:
I'll put up the results as soon as I get hold of em.

Unfortunately those big bulldosers seem to have dissapeared in the past few years:frown: with the best fish for the round, at around 50cm at only 1.66kg, with the dam constantly falling causing smelt hatches to be lower numbers than normal and far less terestrial fodder, like worms, grubs, roaches, snails ect which they gorge themselves on when the dam does rise, this trend of middle weight bass will continue untll we get some enslaughts of heavy rains & maybe a good winter of snowfall up in the Barringtons to flood glenbawn again.
When that happens Glenbawns giant reel smoking, thumb burnin, bronze bulldozers will be back to steel all our gear again I'm sure.:1yikes: :ranting2:
Bring on the rains everywhere they are needed instead of just on the coast!
