Thought with the weather warming up give dee - why beach a go last friday night got nothing only pickers.

But i went for a looksy heard mona vale beach was'nt doing too bad,but i got there a bit late and it was very dark saw a light down further but i was told to fish just right of the pool but i could'nt tell if there were rocks there or not did'nt want to take the risk or move further down and anoy the other's fishing what looked comfortable.

Hey BigE,
got down to MV about 30 mins before sunrise on Sunday. I was further down the beach past the stormwater drain in the middle. Before sun-up tried pillies hoping for a sambo or two, after sunrise switched to live worms for a couple of rays and a tiny flattie. Nothing else.
Spoke to a guy who also told me he'd got a few rays (what is it with the rays this year?), but the water is so clear and the surf so small that there's just no cover for our friends. Bummer. Might try tomorrow night, high tide at 6:17.

Don't know if this will make you feel better or not....but here goes...

Spoke to a guy today that was telling me of a 17.5KG Snapper that got speared around there this morning...You read it right....17.5KG! Hell of a fish.:1yikes:

So Mona Vale goes good for beach fishing at "night" ?...never tried Mona Vale...
