Being from vico I havecaught them in Bullen Merri near Camperdown in Western Victoria. They are really only active in the summer months, which is great because it is when the trout and chinook salmon shut down in the lake. There are probably a couple of other impoundments that are stocked, check with fisheries in vic to find them. There are also heaps of estuaries in western vic that have good populations of estuary perch, which are relatives of the australian bass. The lower Glenelg River is a good place to target them.
hope this helps.
