Hey Guys.. Had the 1 year with my missus on the weekend.. and low and behold i gots a FOW voucher in my chocolate box... $175 ... YIEW !!! (as she is still studying, and works only 2.5 days a week, this is pretty much her weeks pay...)

I was pretty stokked... went in on saturday, but sooo many people in there, so i didnt get anything, i like to have my time walking around etc..

Anyways, on to why i am posting,

hoping one of you FOW guys, (or anyone really) can tell me, what would be the best reel to get...

I am looking at puting in no more than $100 on top of this voucher So have a limit of $275.00...

but i think this should get me the goods i am after, or very close to..

Anyways, i was looking at the Shimano 6500 Bait runner..

the reel i wanna get is an all rounder, which i can use to troll, as well as off the stones, beach, but mostly i would say bottom bashing, and throwing metal slugs when at sea...

Anyways, any suggestions, etc will be greatly appreciated.

haha Thats an allrounder allright hhahha.
you probably are thinking of the right reel honestly, there are later model & some may say better reels, but the old bait Runners are reasonably sound & will do what you are asking of it I think.
the "better 1's" may not like the sand & rock treatment they will cop & gearings mid range also so fine for deeper work & holds a fair chunk of line too boot!
