Hey Steeley
Your not going to the Cook Islands and leaving me here, surely not. I'm off to FNQ again in a few weeks. Got any contacts up there (Monduran, Awoonga, Peter Faust and the reef) sounds tough eh! I could use some tips if you have any old buddies up that way from the old days. Mark
yeah mate in mackay.....Go handlining the reef n spear'n then hit the three dams local (teemburra, kinchent and eungalla)for some barra and 'peter faust' is just up the road....B.P at mackay has a tinny for $80/weekend with a 15 or 20 hp on it.....Or its bout $150 for a week....cheap fishing in the dams....Yeah i will call down and see ya this week.....Cheers mate.....Ya not work'n up there are ya???:hellyeah:

No mate, still stuck in a real job 7 till 5 but give me a buzz when you can. I'll be towing the runabout up there same as last year (it's a bit big to get right in the sticks but I'll manage). I'm on my own for the first week doing the dams then picking the family up at Proserpine then a week at Airlie and another week somewhere further north, haven't decided where yet, probably Lucinda or thereabouts. I'm as jealous as you know what about you going to Cook isles but I wish you well. I've been trying to get there for twenty years, you'll have a ball there. A couple of mates took longliners over there but it didn't last. Too much hassle (ie: red tape, charges, corruption, and a lack of infrastructure for fish handling) but there's a dunny load of fish there. John did temp. charts for them and they did well with them. Apparently a 300kg Sword is average. After his mates' 1100lb blue marlin on his first charter trip in Vanuatu recently exactly where his chart said there should be one, he's pretty fired up at the moment so you never know, if I work on him we might come and set up out that way somewhere ourselves. Give me a call or call in home Sunday.
