Prefish Bans - One Day Bass Rounds

G'day Guys,

What's everyone think about the current lack of prefish bans for the one day Bass rounds :noway:

I can understand that it's nice to have a throw on the Saturday immediately before to familiarise yourself with the water and I think it's a good idea to allow this but I can't agree that prefishing should be permitted on the morning of the round. It was frustrating at St Clair on the weekend to be sitting on the bank from the 6am registration and watching a number of competitors scooting around stinging a number of banks before the 7am start :ranting2:

If 7am starts are to continue perhaps a ban from dawn on the Sunday should be considered

after arriving at midnight due to work commitments we were unable to prefish saterday as most would of... so 1hr driving around before the comp sunday checking water temps & water levels to me seems far. As for stinging other peoples spots whos spots??? If we had cuaght fish we would of been hurting our chances just as much yours

I'd have to agree with Ace, Me also arriving on saturday night it was great to be able to shoot around the dam & check out where the weedbeds were & temperature changes & what it looked like these days with so little water in it.
As for stinging fish,1hr doing more running around than fishing didn't seem to stop Al & I getting our 4 bass each for the competition. Infact it more than likely helped us to do so!

I agree with you fellas, it's a big advantage to have a run around the morning of the comp to have a look at the water.

Using the same logic then you wouldn't have a problem with pre-fishing on the Saturday morning of a two day event ?? For those that have to work Friday and don't arrive until late on Friday night it would only be fair to let them have a scout around before the first Saturday session just as those did for the one day event.

i agree tho dont reckon ya need ya rods with ya...dont think it really helped too much did it boys????i was tempted but would hate to crack a couple b4 the kick off to only find when i eventually got there some1 else was fishn dat spot. But if i had a bigger,faster boat.....hmmmm.....lol.....IF YA GOOD ENOUGH I DONT RECKON YA NEED A LOOK 1-2HRS B4....LOL...:beerchug:

If I'm remembering the rules properly & I'll find out for sure for you, you can be on the water running around before 2 dayers while the prefish ban is on, scouting, but no lines in!!!
But it is nearly always dark.

spot on greg....its gr8 for looking for schools of bream on the flats to smack first up in the morn'n....oop's....i think i let ya know one of me secrets...lol:eeek:
