Quick heads up for harbour fisho's
Went for a bash thursday with a mate, "the producer". Bit windy and hard work early but the 4am start meant still a few of squid on board by 8am for the 9.30 high. headed to the east side of the spit hoping for some good Kings but only scored a single rat before the bream moved in. Nice very silver yellowfin though and hungry as hippos so had a play with them for a little before heading to bluefish through the swell. Managed a resonable King at bluey (82cm) before back into the harbour to a few different markers, inc quarrantine and dobby. 4 more well fed kings boated tween 70 and 80. the salmon were busting up around the place as well so had a quick flick with the metals. good fun on light gear, but the choppers were about too so after losing $30 of slices was time to head back for a Kingy dinner.
Happy Days.:wiink:

latest harbour update
went out mon 30th - afternoon session - squid much harder to come by with 15 - 20kt winds. small yakkas a nightmare both to find and to tempt. found some bigger yakkas (after hours of frustration) off clifton. went and dropped them down round the spit on dusk hopin for a few jews only to be monstered by tailor chomping them in half with regularity. left there and found a bit of hard gravel ground with bait on it off balmoral, and a couple of reasonable reds came up on lightly weighted squid which saved the day. tho to rub it in when we got back to the boat ramp there was a school of squid under the boat.....:violent1:
talked to a few other fishos out and about and everyone seemed to be doing it hard, a few kings early at bluefish and the salmon inside quarrantine pretty much the best of the day.
