View Full Version : Kings and Sambo Saturday
Hit the brinny with Mark D and another friend Jimmy and headed out to bluefish were we have been doing so well on the kings of late again we were not disapointed as jimmy landed a ripper of around 68cm. The Kings were then replaced with Sambos and we spent the next couple of hours landing a whole heap of fish, including three double hook ups for the day. The key to the 3 double hook ups seemed to be telling stories of past fishing trips and double hook up encounters while drinking large amounts of beer  . Then for the second time in as many months we were muscled out by spearos, has anyone got a solution to divers moving into your location? Short of running them down it there doesnt seem to much I can do except move on and brood. Decided to do a quick run out to Murphys but nothing much appered on the sounder and conditons were detirorating both on the drinking and weather front so ran back in and trolled back into the harbour. The kings are just going nuts at the moment and are as ferocios as Ive ever seen them, had a great afternoon

Sounds like a top session Phil - Narralakes and myself were only a short distance away on Sunday, at Spot X, burleying all the time and came up with a big fat donut.
Spearos = tuna oil - lots and lots of tuna oil - when they come to the surface they get it all over them - phew!

It certainly was tough fishing on Sunday, but by the sounds of it, live baiting seemed to be the go, nah, I'll still go fly I think, a couple of donuts now and then is good for the soul, besides, who can complain about casting practice? But when we did burley up, Iv'e never seen so many yakkas around, so the kings must be lurking close by, next time George!
Double hookups, triple hookups its all happening ! Well done mate.
As for the spearo's, well what is the one thing they fear ? Thats right - sharks ! Start chumming like crazy - they'll soon move
enjoy
Sounds great boys.
Believe me, when I'm sanding my boat for hours on end, it's reports like this that keep me going!!!
Oh to be on the water soon!!!!
Thanks for the tip george and grant, treat them like mutton birds I like it. Ken they were all taken on lures so the fly should be fine, Iain I know the felling of sanding back a boat in summer, it suxs lets just hope yours doesnt sink as soon as you finish the job. Mark D tells me you have a passion for beer and 80's Oz rock so your always welcome on my boat PM if you ever want to come out while you wait for the boat to be finished.
Cheers Phil.
PS Can we make it eaiser to Up load photos?
It certainly was a great afternoon on the water! Thanks Phil.
Some good photos too. Can someone post info on how to post them?
Nice tips on the spearo's lads
Thanks Phil and you never know, I might take you up on your offer!!!
We're looking into the photo situation too.
Can someone post info on how to post them?
Mark, post them on my MSN page, and then link to them from here. That should work!
As a spearo myself the tuna oil solution is a good one!!!
Nothing p!$$#$ me off more than spearos with bad manners lobbing in the water where people are already fishing. Its much like fishermen keeping undersize fish......... its un-necessary and give the good ones a bad name.

Jewel,
I'd like a dollar for everytime I've been fishing the Valiant only to have boat loads of trainee divers turn up and jump over the side right where I'm fishing - not much hope when they're trained that way. Thankfully you're one with manners!
