Just back from my 6 day trip down to Jervis Bay/St Georges Basin. Despite the overall shitty weather, the two days of good weather I managed to convert into good fishing.

My family's friends' friend, Charlie, was kind enough to offer me two days fishing on his tinny. The first day (Thursday) was spent in the basin, where I managed the first fish of the day in the shape of a whopper 86cm flattie - my new PB and I was stoked! 80mm Squidgy Fish did the damage. She went pretty hard and put a good bend in the 1-4kg Jewel. She swum off powerfully too. :headbang:

The next day was spent in Jervis Bay itself. We spent most of the day burleying up at a bommie in search of kingy's and snapper. In short, it was kingfish: 4 - fishermen: 1 (with Charlie only getting a rat under 60cm). We all had turns getting busted off. However, we still boated plenty of fish and plenty of different species. Those two days made the trip, because I caught next to nothing on every other day. I blame the weather and overall shitty landbased fishing!

Cheers Greg, did keep a few gars though. They were good size and I really rate them on the tooth! Just gotta make sure the water quality is good and you get rid of that black stomach lining.

Gotta love calamari and red rock cod too. :headbang:

But big flatties, they always go back.
