fishing syd harbour tips

hi everyone hitting the syd harbour in the morning trying some trolling with metal lures and a christmas tree can any one give me some pointers thanks frenzy

mate trying floating down a whole squid on a 2 hook rig for kingies around the well kingie spots :)

Ok gotcha :-) 2 hook gang??? I will try this 2moro as I have a box of squid :-) hey mate made up that burley!!! damn it looks good :-)

Haha yeah its good stuff.

The rig i use is this one

| < main line around 20lb-30lb is good
|
o < small ball sinker .. about the size of a pea depending on the current
|
|
|
o
= < Swivel [ Use good ones not cheap ones esp for kingies ]
o
|
|
|
| < leader around 30 lb - 60lb depending on where fishing ]
|
|
|
|
J < first hook .. sliding on leader so you can move it to the squid size ]
| first hook a little smaller then the last one
| when squid is hooked the first hook should have top of leader tied around
| the hook so it doesnt move
J < bigger hook to go on the bottom of the squid

Just checking for tips myself as back over with you in September:headbang: At the moment my daughter is living in Manly and it looks like we will be staying with her for a while before we start moving around your great country. Can you recommend any spots/techniques for the Manly area??? Will have the same spinning gear as I had last time which served me very. Well I did buy it from "Fish Outta Water" in George St so it must be good swag :biggrin:

Any of you guys live in the Manly area??? Well up for a couple of hours fishing with any of you chaps :headbang:

Also hoping to meet up with Haji and Kingyfisher again. They were the perfect hosts and really showed me how to fish "oz style"
