thanks dk
Well if you goto Windor Golf Course- by the 2nd hole - the river- and theres proably about 80 million carp!
There are so many and there so huge, we throw rocks at them while waiting to tee off.
Its private prporty but that doesnt stop anyone. The river travels around Im sure there would be otehr points of entrance to fish it.
You can see them wading in the shallows, its an unbeliveable sight some days.

If i was you I would try in the lake at barnabys resteurant of henry lawson drive. Iv'e caught some big fish there 5.3 kilos. I used bread as bait squashed onto the hook with no sinker. the other lakes at lake gillawarna also have carp but the electrofishers went through there last month and took out 200kilos in two days, there was some big fish in there about 7kilo.

Manly Dam is full of 'em as well
Right at the dam wall.
Just berley up with bread over a period of about an hour, then send out some bread a couple of metres under a float, and you should hook up no worries.
The Lane Cove River above the weir is also always good.
You can usually see them wallowing in the shallows right at the edge of the wier, similar sight to what disco said i guess.
BTW fisheries insist you kill any of them that you catch and throw the carcass more than 50m from the water.
Good luck!!!

I wanted to catch some carp too , I might give the Windsor spot a go . As far as Barnaby's goes isnt that a bit like fishing in a fish farm ? They would be introduced in there or something wouldnt they ? You wouldnt think they would want people killing their decorative fishes ..... but then again its carp .
Looking at the map - Windsor golf course is away from the river right ? So you mean to fish in that lake behind it ? Or am I off track ? Can you catch Bass in that area of the river ?

Try canned corn kernels as bait, just thread them onto the hook until it is full. Also Mcdonalds fries, believe it or not are good! I caught one on a Jackal once it went 25 lb and towed me a good 50 metres in my kayak before I slowed it at all! They are pretty weak as far as sportfish go until they get some size, then they are top fun. I used to catch a lot down in the southern highlands, but havent had a bite the last few attempts, which is a good thing for the rivers I guess.:luck:
Hi all,
I was wondering if these fishing spots are land based fishing spots coz I haven't got a boat :orcawhale: Thank You!

Yes these spots are land based. For more info around windsor golf club, the lagoon at the back of the club is actually part of rickabys creek which meets the hawkesbury river only 500mtrs down stream I think it only connects to the creek when water levels are very high. So very rarely these days.
