Hows Fishing After The Rain ? TOO GOOD ! Port Hacking 9/2/10

Hey Guys

Me and Dad wanted to go for a fish during the week so we went today.

Got the boat ready and we were on the road at 3;30 pm. Lauched and drove straight out to the heads.

Floated around for a while. Got a little just undersized Snapper.

Tryed at Jibbion Bombie just floating down Squid. Got eaten by little reef fish and the like.

Had enough of that so Me and Dad went for a drive around the Hacking looking at moored boats in one of the bays. After that i went looking around the bottom for a hole so i could have a fish for Jewies. It was getting on to 7 i think but anyways in this good looking spot i dropped my whole squid lighty weighted to the bottom and Dad put one in as well.
We then started having a quick flick with our Bream gear and while dad was reeling in something ( i thought it might of been a crab or something ) but it was just weed so i turned around and as i did my baitrunner went off ! 8kg line i grabbed the rod and was thinking wow this couldnt be a jewie ! Thats just too easy ! Anyway after a good 5 min battle up came the biggest flathead i have ever seen ! As it got near the boat it made another run to the bottom but i got him up and he JUST slipped in the net. Tail hanging out i was a little scared as he just fell out of the net seconds before.
Anyway in the boat he was and it was BIG ! i couldnt believe it. The head of it was just WOW ! Measured him up and he was a genuine 87cm ! WOW thats to good. Hi fives all round and a quick few snaps of the camera i put the big flathead back to live another day :) Youtube video should be up tomorrow :)

And 2 mins after that dad lands a nice 28cm Bream...Then 5 mins later his on again ! this time he hooked up to a 38cm bream ! Too good !.. Thats dinner sorted ! Funny tho the Bream were being caught on the whole squid aimed for a Jewie :S

After that we tryed a few difts in the channel for nothing so we called it a night.

AWESOME TRIP cant believe it still :)
