Subject: Meeting this Thurs re Nepan River Sewer/s

Hi Guys,
I have been advised that a meeting will be on this Thursday at 3pm 30th Nov. at the CMA Office 68 Mileham St South Windsor at which Sydney Water will discuss the recent announced West Sydney re-cycle Initiative - I understand that may means an extra 2 sewer outlets will go into the upper Hawkesbury/Nepean River - I hope I am wrong especially considering the policy announcements regarding estuarine management in the State Plan recently announced by the Premier!
Would you please be good enough to circulate this information so that as many interested parties can attend this meeting especially local Clubs including those from FCA, ANSA and the Council of Freshwater Anglers.

regards
Max Castle
Vice President

I went, in short not as bad as it looked.
Up shot is:
Stop enviro flow from warragamba and replace with more flow from upper nepean dams.
Currently 60ML of tertiary effluent into nepean and 20ML into sth ck. This will become 50ML of treated effluent (potable) into nepean and still 20ML of old stuff into sth ck. 8ml shipped to long dist outflow (its too salty to put in river).
Overall opinion was that this is an improvement but not enough as sth creek should get the same 2nd treatment stage as nepean.

Thanks heaps for update Tony,
As per usual the state of our waterways seems to come a distant second to the state of our states finances.
but seemingly better than it could have been....
one day Syd water may treat all of our sewage properly before flushing it through our fish......
