Quick offshore bash early this week, pretty nice out there.
Water was blue as right close to shore.
Heaps and heaps of slimies out the front of Syd heads on the surface so jigged some for bait, had some rat kings around em at times. Saw a guy get a small Amberjack too on the way past.
Found some nice Blue Mowies off Curly in about 50m of water, plus couple of flatties for me dinner, then the bloke i was fishin with landed this nice snapper! (see pic)
There were some much bigger ones about too, we were getting hooks back that had been straightened and even a couple crunched through on the shank.
Cheers
Stef
Beautiful work Stef. Was it over reef, or other structure?

Cheers Joe,
Would have loved it if the Snap was mine!
Was over some really reefy ground, just on the edge of a nice pinnicle.

Once again you saw the snapper but didnt get one yourself!!!!! Sounds like a good day though. Up here on the sunshine coast the days look good but with a hole in the boat i am stuck on land:noway:
WTF???
Hole in the boat???
Please explain!!!
Only spoke to you last week and everything was fine and dandy! Teasing me about the great Sydney fishing! NOT!
By the way Stef, top fish there my friend.
I can gladly say an 8kg monster was pullled also two weeks back from a Broken Bay reef on live Yakka. Some nice Snapper around!

Bloody queenslanders and their masses of sweet tasting snapper
salted and cooked to perfection on the barbie in the beautiful one day perfect the next summer heat!
At least i got a pearly..... and got to nail a few mango eating cane toads with the one wood!
man that was fun.
Did you use those herring we got yet?? Keen to know if you get anything on 'em!
BTW Kamil, 8kg now that is a nice fish, any pics floating round....???i have heard of one or two sizable fellas in the last week or so.
4 of us went out again yesterday for some plate sized blue mowies (see pic) and similar snaps, unfortunately made it out a bit late in the day for the bigger ones. also had a 6ft whaler swimmin behind the boat for twenty mins while we drifted, couldnt get rid of it, couldnt get it to eat anything.
not like the makos that eat anything you throw at em...
though theres a few small versions of them around the heads now too
No Photo Stef, as it was seen in the flesh, the weekend of the Classic. Old fella had at least 5 of them, from 40cm to 8kg. Can give you the reef via PM if you want. Biggest one ive seen out this way for a looong time! A few other photos have surfaced of others in the last week and some Pearlies as well!!! Out of Sydney for crying out softly!!!!
What is this global warming doing???

Mate you're tellin me.
A guy at work jigged up a pearly at the peak the other week while hunting for kings. Good size too.
And i saw a photo a mate had from pitty - he was wanting to know what this fish he caught was - and if it wasnt a shark mackerel im not a fisho.
C'mon the Sydney Spaniards!!!???
The water is blue as out the front and all the shearwaters are coming south, so things must be hot as up the coast already. That and the fact that there are heaps of slimies about might have something to do with those big snaps. Also the big squid have come in breeding.....
20.7 degree water all round outside already, and warmer off the shelf!
Bring on the carbonated atmosphere i say.

Try 22.8, and rising, straight out from Longy. I was out on the water today, an heard of 1 black landed, and a triple hookup in progress on a charter boat. And from the info I got, he was only about 10 K's out.:hellyeah: :hellyeah:

:PogoStick:
any luck yourself Joe?????
my boss went out wide-ish thismornin and ended up with flatties mowies etc
i had a harbour bash with shlaterz - yakkas hard, big breeder squid about, kings on most markers inc quarrantine with mix of rats and few bigger boys. i got stitched up by 3 ok kings on my favourite marker
seen pics of resonably big kingy landed off rocks at nth head thismorn too. apparently went 28lb.
any luck yourself Joe?????
Nope! I had to cut my amateurish trolling down after spotting a smoke flare and dashing of to lend a hand if needed!:_smack_: :_smack_: :_smack_:
