Spent the weekend up at port with Ambition. Decided to make the most of the good weather saturday morning by heading north to Allmark for some kings. We dropped by some traps and flotsam to suss out some dollies, but they were mostly rats. I got the only legal fish at 67cm and had a larger fish around 80cm flick itself off whilst being lifted into the boat. :frown: Got to Allmark and we sent down the jigs. Triple hook up on kings straight away. They were on fire all morning. Average size was 80-85cm with a few close to a metre, and almost all the fish were fat as. A few larger fish were lost - just too big - one busted a T-Curve.

Called it quits at around noon with the fish still biting and headed south to the marlin grounds. They had been on fire on Saturday but we couldn't hook up. Frustrating to see boats hooking up all around you, one boat hooked up right next to us and had the marlin jumping less than 100m from the boat. Headed back in to port with 0-0-0. :Backstab:

Sunday wasn't much better. Spent the whole day chasing beakies but the bite wasn't hot. Boats were still hooking up but not as many as Saturday. Still had some boats hook up next to us just to piss us off. Ivan the skipper was disappointed as he was getting 2-3 marlin every day before we arrived and was desperate to get us some. We had two takes but nothing connected for more than the fishes first jump, and we had to return to port with figures of 2-0-0.

Thank god for the hot kingy action because with our luck it could have been a very dull weekend. But it just gives us more of a reason to come back next time.

Yeah they've been on fire for the past 1-2 weeks but shut down for us just as we turned up. Might be a bit slow for a little bit?

Tim Dean tagged 14 in one day. Ivan was getting heaps, we had no idea why we weren't getting any. Just one of those days, we weren't doing anything wrong it was just bad luck. Maybe too many boats intercepting all our marlin.

Kingy action was good though, wish we had gotten a look at the monster that broke the T-Curve. We were all jigging with 45-55lb gear.

Well i have keys to a good mates boat for off shore, but i have bought a attack 470 with a 115 Etec on the back, evil black hull with red glitter gunnels and red carpet, needed a boat to go bass fishing, bream, and to start chasing jews on plastics up river coming into the cooler months and also kings, the boat rides unreral with wind chop, top speed of 55mph,has a hydraulic jack plate with a Minn Kota 80lb..Great boat for all round casting, trip coming up to head north to chase long tails in the bays in north QLD...

So its nothing to big and nothing to small, perfect size for 1 person to handle as well,i took her for a spin yest up in the nepean just for a burn and quick flick,fasttttttttttttt...
