Hey guys, went out today late arvo with shlaterz again, bored and wind didn't come up as expected so finally got off my ass and left rosey ramp at three pm.
bait easy to come by, got a five yakka string on my sabiki rig and had 12 yaks in 10 mins.
know the kings have been hitting yaks of late so no botherin wit squid
went quarrantine marker - spoke to a guy who had been there three hours - no kings only a few surface salmon, so headed off to check a few markers and what used to be the western wedding cake.
saw big lines on the sounder so stopped and dropped.
decent results - stitched up by one much bigger than what we landed, but still left with a 75 and an 85 and back at the ramp by 6pm. :beerchug:
the 85 ran round the anchor rope a few times but a bit of patience and was sweet - except for a pretty chafed leader.
Got a big roar from a passing christmas harbour cruise boat with all the boys pissed as when we traced it into the boat.... haha
shlaterz got on to the other on the drift and i drove him out to deeper water - much better without chains and anchors and landed all sweet
Eating lemon grass infused king fillet right now, such a nice fish, both the fight and the eat!!

Cheers
Stef

You dont need a hairy, your hairs fine, mmmm more Sashimi! Boy we are gonna feast all summer me thinks! What the hell you doing up so early today? Crazy! A few others went out yesterday and got stuck into some also, no where near as big as yours, but still great fun. These Kings have made the biggest comeback in recent times, its so great, theres more Kings than Salmon!

Good work Stef.

I also fished the Harbour, but in the morning. Nailed a few at Clifton after I spotted them hitting the surface. Got them down deep though on a slice. Were they still active on the surface in the afternoon?

Nah mate the wind was up and it was pretty choppy by the time i got out there so if they were up i couldnt see them. I have seen them about on the surface closer to middle head a little of late but they've never stayed up for long. I might have been on the same school you were fishn tho cos there was plenty to be seen on the sounder....! I'm just filthy cos i keep getting busted up by bigger fish. Three outings in a row now i've hooked into 90+cm fish and been castrated.

BTW Kamil if Sydney Harb behaves anything like how Pitty did till some :pottytrain1: went and netted three and a half tonnes of em last year, we will have real bruisers soon. Pitty had 4 plus years of pros being pretty fair and just taking a few here and there, and by the end of it there were 20kg fish in residence. Completely Unstoppable monsters!!!! Fingers crossed. :icon_smile_big:
