Anyone ever done any fishing in and around Lake Cunjola?? I'm heading down that way after Xmas and going to start out in Fishermans Paradise and go from there. I'm sure it's just a name but I've heard there are some good flatties to be had.

hey roach
anywhere in the lakes main channel is great for flathead, also they get some nice bream whiting and the odd jew. the biggest flathead we have caught down there was about 85 to 90cm long. if ya have a boat driff the hole river but if fishing from the shore look for the weed patches with sand next to it there are plenty of spots like that in the river fresh prawns and white bait work well as do worms
well i hope that helps you out good luck

I spent a few holidays down there with the folks as a kid. I remember Dad and I fishing the inlet to the lake and picking up some stonker whiting! We used worms and the trusty old piece of red tube. There is also a sand spit where the inle hits the ocean and it fishes well for whiting on the high tide. Good luck and I hope you get some elbow slappers!!

I have an A4 size map of Lake Conjola originally published by the now defunct Milton-Ulladulla and Districts Tourist Association. It identifies key locations to fish for Bream,Whiting,Flathead,Jewfish,Salmon,Tailer, Blackfish, Garfish and leatherjackets.

The map does not show the ramp at the Western end of the lake. This is a small ramp (not concrete) only suitable for tinnies and with limited parking but it saves a long run from the caravan park ramp (at the entrance to the lake) to get up to the middle and quieter end of the lake.(away from the waterskiers!) First or second turn left after leaving the Princess Highway, have a drive around and you will find this little ramp without any trouble

If anyone would like a copy please post your fax no and I will be happy to fax one.

Good fishing

I stopped by this area on my way back up from Batemans Bay after a job. I was actually looking for a place to fish.

The water clear & crystal blue, awesome nice place. Unfortunately I didn't end up fishing there because the local teens didn't look too friendly lol.

I'll end up on a fishing trip there too myself one of these days. Fishing books say you can catch quite a few good species there. I also saw a land base fisherman walk back from the beach area, but I didn't get a chance to stop him for a chat. It's a nice place for a swim, fishing, holiday for sure. A canoe would also be good to use in this area or small boat.

Over at Fishermans Bay, there is a small area where you can park your car & boat trailer. It's fairly small & that small river/stream will take you out to the main lake too.
