yeah that same party that has in the past wanted to keep the COMMERCIAL fishing industry happy above recs, if it means a good deal politically????.
they supported locking out rec fishers while allowing commercial fishers access to the exact same marine parks we are arguing about while they were still the shooters party when they supported the 1997 Marine Park Bill and then supported the later Amendments with no word on the rec fishos loss.

So who wants pro's back in the harbour?

not for me thankyou

anyway they were until recently JUST the shooters party.
Nothing like jumping on the back of a hot issue (marine parks) to increace your political base

I too don't really like being grouped with shooters.

Although I don't see them trying to increase commercial fishing? I certainly hope not because I definitely do NOT want the pros back in the harbour (won't happen anyway).

"5. FISHING
- The Party supports a fair and equitable share of fish stock for recreational fishers. - The Party supports Marine Conservation, but does not support the creation of Marine Protected Areas unless they are based on sound scientific study.
- The Party supports the imposition of reasonable licence fees for saltwater and freshwater fishing provided
revenue from those fees is managed by anglers, and used for the betterment and promotion of fishing and
fishing facilities.
- The Party supports the establishments of recreational fishing havens, and the closure of commercial fishing
activities where it can be demonstrated that commercial activities are not sustainable and/or are seriously
depleting fish stocks.
- The Party supports stocking of fish species to assist and maintain fish populations, provided that quality of stock
is maintained, and sufficient wild stock are utilised to maintain species quality.
- The Party advocates proper use of “catch and release“ practices to maintain stocks, while allowing reasonable
catch limits."

I'd also like to see MORE funding go towards aquaculture.

However their immigration policy is appalling. An immediate moratorium on ALL immigration in every way, shape or form???

?

that bit must be newly imagined, based on their voting history,
maybe robert brown is more of a fisherman than john tingle was, but i dunno.
but anyway there is a massive difference between sustainable commercial fishing and that which seriously depletes fish stocks
Are they serious? which is it? the and/or leaves more than a bit of wiggle room...
just not convinced they are really supporting us?

wish it were so that someone really did support us rec fishos - maybe these guys have changed and will do that now.

But yeah some of their other policies stink

eg..
 Custodial parents should be held responsible for the criminal actions of their minor children.
