Hey Guys,

Newbie to the forum but not to fishing, years back I used to go a lot with my uncles and now im easing back into it with my mates, but we are still sussing out locations (land based) in the Sydney vacinty and types of bait to be used,

Please rate these spots, tell if they are any good, or if you know of prime locations and type of bait to be used

Greenwich Point
Spit Bridge
Taren Point Bridge
Gunnamatta Bay (cronulla)
Kyeemah / Dolls point

Cheers

Hollywood,
The Spit can be worth a run for a few species - esp bream and tailor but also occasionally kingies n jewies on live baits.
Greenwich pt can also be worth a visit for a similar mix of species plus flatties, But im pretty sure i remember getting a massive filthy catfish there once too.....

Hi Hollywood,

I fish Kyeemah to Dolls Point often, and even Captain cook bridge, but strictly fishing sp's now, don't use bait...BUT, fresh squid for the bigger stuff, or Nippers & Worms for the smaller stuff.

The Bay is not the greatest spot to fish, but it can go ok........sometimes.

Kyeemah - Heavily fished - tough to get a possie somedays.Brighton to dolls: Try breakwaters, Easterly wind can suck. Bridge: Never had much luck there. Lots of snag ups.

Fish caught: Mostly Tailor, Trevally and Flatties. Some whiting, bream, flounder, Kings, Jews.

My opinion,
The Spit, too Snaggy
Greenwich, only good after midnight, ferries stop running then
The other are good for majority off species,
there are many more great spots say in the harbour to fish! Most have bait readily available, most beaches are good this time off year too.
