I was driving through the park today and seen some people fly fishing there. I had no idea you could fish there. What sort of fish would they catch? Is it catch and release? Would you use flies always or floats with bait. Sorry for all the questions, but its got me curious. Since i live 5 minutes from the park. Its another option to fish. Thanks in advance for any info.:gohard:
dunno what in centennial park Jock, maybe bass but more than likely just carp, or maybe they are just brushing up on technique.

This is what i thought. They do have some small lakes but i thought you wouldn't get much. If anything. But might be a good idea to take a few tinnies and find out. What would you use for bait etc? Say if it was carp or bass? Good eating or not?

If it is carp and knowing those ponds it would be. just head down to a likley looking spot. Fill a bucket with half a loaf of bread and some water, make a bread slush, throw it out and start fishing. I used to use a hand line with 20lb and a huge pencil float, the hook was a suicide about a metre down with NO lead, (the bread tightly moulded on the hook acts as weight) I used to pull carp up to 5kg out of our dam at Glossodia. Just think you get to go fishing and kill a few fish to help the enviroment. Nothing like a little murder :_smack_: to relax in the arvo!
bass, my dad plays soccer round at glossy ive been round there a few times when people have being catching some carp BUT is there anymore left in there now? or are they a rare come by?

Tom, Yeah I know the dam your talking about at woodbury oval. We actually had a good dam on our property at Glossodia. Though I used to catch HEAPS of carp in the dam at the oval. There would still be some stonkers in there for sure!!! Next time your old man is playing soccer out there , wet a line, you'll hook a monster for sure. If you need any help just P.M me
thanks for that mate ill send a PM off now!
