Cold water

Have been holidaying on the Northern Beaches and have found (like everyone else) it amazing how cold the water is. I have tried fishing late in the afternoon/early evening with squid a couple of times - very pleasant but no takers. I changed tack today spending a couple of hours beach worming and went back later in the afternoon. Caught a large whiting 43cm and a nice bream 32cm before darkness set in. Saw a guy casting a saltwater fly in the gutter, trying for whiting. He didnt have any luck.

Yes the water is cold, I was at garie beach over the weekend, lots of salmon being caught at the rock platform to the north of the beach.

BTW, I will be holidaying in Jervis bay over the weekend and good rock/beach fishing spots around that area? Especially with the new marine sanctuary coming up recently I am a bit confused.
