Here's some photos of the action yesterday. N Harbour is starting to warm up, at last! 45cm bonito caught on half a frozen pillie. 46cm flathead on frozen prawn. Also got flounder, snapper and trevally.

There was a school of fish feeding of the surface beside me, for ages, think they must have been the bonito. They can pull hard.
Tell me, are bonito any good for eating?

mate how are ya, bonnies are very very tasty, bonnies and albacore are the best out of the tuna speices ???just bleed them, fillets or cuttlets then fry very nice, very top live bait for kingys from 10kg mark will take a bonito any day ..always keep a close eye on the bonnie when you get him to the boat kings follow 60% of the time picking at there back ...great livey for kings, yellowfin, marlin and many more bigger pelagics????

Sean thats good to hear north harbour is firing mate!! Im going out tomorrow so hopefully i can find a few bonnies too.. Let u know how i go.
Those fish on the surface might have been frigates, i hear that theres a couple that have moved in in the last few days

Cheers Stef, good luck tomorrow.
Yeah I like that photo of the sunrise - it's quite symmetrical. Wonder could I copyright it and sell on ebay?

Revhead, you can fish off the pool enclosure at Forty Baskets, which can be quite good. Also, the rocks between Forty Baskets beach and Reef Beach are worth a try. I wasn't too far off there when I caught those above.
