Hey all,
Went for a quick harbour bash today.
Slept in so not on the water till 7 after standing up my mate.
Thankfully he was nice and had filled the tank with yakkas for us by the time i got down to the water...
(While i was waiting to be picked up at the spit could see bait on the surface everywhere - so felt confident)
Mate told me while he was getting yakkas he had seen a couple of little cobia coming up into his berley - felt more confident.
Cruised around for some squid - got 5 in about 45mins - reasonable size.
Started hitting some markers etc. Saw heaps of surface action round shark island area - followed it up and found tailor with kings under em.
Put some yakkas down around markers near there - got first king pretty quick - only 65cm.
Moved to next marker - yakkas didnt fire but squid strips did - my mate got 75cm fish on the drift.
Kept moving from marker to marker - some had pickers - others had kings, tried em all!
All in all was fun day - had triple hook ups on some markers (while the two of us were hooked up a third rod would go off...)
Ended up hooking somewhere round 15 fish - at least 5 of which were undersize - the rest up to 75cms.
Saw many other blokes hooking up on plastics / yakkas / squid strips / live squid / etc etc etc
worth the day out for sure - eating kingy tonight.......
