we snapped a blue rose at work the other day while testing it - they arent even underbound - and they r machine made - for that money i would go the saltiga 4 sure.
But in saying that the first bloke to take a rose out from the store caught a 67kg doggie in PNG first fish.
and now he raves hard about them. so they must be OK when in use.
Your call mate.
the jigwrex's r pretty nice but very stiff for the weight class - esp the 400gm ones, but they r very well priced and the japanese jiggers do rate them.
then there r the saltist jig sticks, they arent bad and also give a good action to the jig.
but still, my call - hiramasa all the way.
btw u dont need a dogfight unless you r casting poppers and stuff, all the dedicated japanese jiggers (who r the blokes who really know their stuff) say they r pretty much too quick for jigging, or at least unnecessarily quick.
The 6500 expedition or simply the saltiga 6000gt is the go. call daiwa pete and chat to him!

Dude I want the dogfight, because i never know when I will actually need it, as for the speed I can always slow down my retrieve if I need to. The rod was the only if in the equation, Hirasama still seems like the go.
I plan on doing a nomad charter later this year, thats when I hope I will need all that it has to offer, you keen on coming? GT's Doggtooth tuna and more. Considering what you get its worth every penny (Nomad that is)
Have you checked them out? http://www.nomadsportfishing.com.au/
One of our customers went last year and he has raved about it ever since. One story went he got spooled by a marlin on his 6500 exp only for the deckie to see the braid floating 10 minutes later, retied it on and landed the marlin.

That is one hell of a story Kris about the line!!! The video previews on that site are incredible, they know their stuff, plus the places they fish such as Kenn Reef are untouched paradises! Look at the vid previews and tell me what reels they using! STELLA, i love the Satiga's but the Stellas according to some of my mates that do these trips are stronger. Both incredible reels and doubt if they would break on Aussie fish, guess its a personel choice champ. THe black Dogtooth does look great but...

Mate i am big time there on the nomad, heard plenty of gun reports - but we wanna make sure we go to marion reef if we can, or even kato - i will russle up some pics a bloke at work bought in - you will not believe it. he caught a 12kg coral trout and a 10kg diamond trevally on the one popper. plus numerous doggies, a massive jobfish, a sailfish as long as the boat is wide and sooooo many more fish than that. it is unbelievable. i think u fly from hayman out to the mothership. one of the guys who works on it is a marine biologist, another a chef, another a gun fisherman, another a gun scuba diver etc etc. by all reports the complete ducks nuts of a charter. costly but what isnt these days

Stef who gives a **** how much it costs, i think its 2500 to 3000 for 5 to 7 days, just add up how much any trip away costs, that is all inclusive exept for tackle....and what do you catch!!???!!!

Worth every cent i have for an experience like that.. the blokes i have met smile for months after, Also Kenn Reef and Kato are as good as any of the others, I think they all have their moments as does any fishing spot, so when we decide to go we take their call on that one.
Are you up for it Kamil, the three of us would have a sick time whadaya reckon?

Also Kamil, one of the blokes we know went up their with a stella 10000 and a saltiga 6500exp, after advice from the deckeis he only one he used on the trip was the saltiga, the other came back unused, this bloke is 80 yo. And I think that says it all, he caught everything on it too, doggie, GT's Marlin and heaps more.
