live bait of the beach

Hi, can someone tell me the best way to hook a live mullet off the beach? mine always die quick. Is it through the mouth, back of neck or under the tail?

hey mate,if you can get live poddys and hook them in the back,not to deep down from the top of his body,from the middle of his body to any ware near his tail....mullet are the strongest fish you can ever get they can stay alive for ever in a bucket i keep my mullet for weeks with a air rator in a bucket as long as u change the water over every 2nd day or so ...i have used 1 mullet for a week never got toched by a fish and i made sure that i hooked him in the same spot every time i couldnt belive it on the 4th day he was still beaming ....they are so tough...
