Sydney Harbour dull fishing 22 02 07

Hit the harbour thursday hoping for a few kings - and tho the harbour has been firing lately, t'was to no avail. Nothing around anywhere. Managed to get some tiny tasty yakkas but then nothing. Bugger all surface action. Very small patches of kings, Salmon, and frigates and tailor belting the surface patchily for about an hour in the morning, then zero fish around for the rest of the day. Hit a few markers, hit bluefish (which was a washy greenwater swamp), drove from rushcutters to north harbour and into middle harbour. Everywhere was green water and fishing was crap. Saw only two boats hook up all day, one to a salmon, and then des toms to a king and a salmon. No birds on any schools. What has happened??? At the start of the week there was action everywhere.....

well there was a huge bait ball just of jibbon this morning we threw some lures at it and came up with a few nice bonnies and one salmon all on bream gear and gave up after mate got spooled, as for the harbour i got no idea lets just blame those 2 big ships and the state goverment hahahahaha

I had a few good reports of kings being caught in the harbour, but all on live squid

After you guys left me at quarantine buoy i was getting pushed really close to it by the wind. I threw a plastic at the buoy and had 2 kingies follow the lure up to the boat...heart racing btw..but no takers.They were wallowing around the very surface next to the edge of the buoy...nice to see them though.Threw franticly for half an hour to no avail.

Unlucky Hook'm. that is so frustrating hey.
We could have given it another half hour or so...... seems like we should have.
Had a feeling the run out might have seen some action.
Was such a slow day all round tho hey, it just had me scratching my head.
Seems things are back to normal now, Flatrock had a good morning this morn!!

hey DK did u get that pic of the bait ball shrunk down??
In the harbour thursday after the dolly run we parked over a monster school of bait that was balled up with big very fishy lines all around it, and watched the bait ball split in three on the sounder as it was being belted from eveywhere!!! T'was awesome to watch. caught some kings and a hammerhead from it too!
